Day 61 – July 19, 2025 – Westport, Ireland

Great breakfast with some oatmeal with Bailey’s Irish Cream added and some French toast with maple syrup and cinnamon. Nothing like a great breakfast full of carbs to get you going, lol! Will be needing them for our hike today in Connemara Park.

At the park, we started from the visitor’s center and did part of the Lower Diamond Hill Walk until it connected to the Upper Diamond Hill Walk and went all the way around Diamond Hill. It was a total of about 4 ½ miles and took us about 3 hours. The climb up the Upper Diamond Hill was very steep at times and while John was like a Billy goat trudging up like it was nothing, the rest of us had to take stops. The views were spectacular! It was great to get some good exercise, and the weather cooperated for the most part.

We headed back to the BNB and showered and then headed downtown to walk and window shop before dinner at Luseas again. We had a nice view of the water and mountains in the background. John and I split a salad and a salmon dish.

Back to the BNB and played Hand and Foot; the girls won, again!!!

Tomorrow, we head back to Dublin for an overnight before we fly to Iceland.

One the property of the BNB – Angela has a lovely home and grounds!
We were at the Cliffs of Moher yesterday and today we are going to Connemara National Park. Westport is just above the park.
We did the Lower Diamond Hill Walk until it met up with the Upper Diamond Hill Walk.
Off we go – the mountain looks ready for us, lol!
Mommy and baby just chilling.
A view of Croagh Patrick off in the distance to the right.
A common black slug found in Ireland. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a black one.
Love this view! The peak on the right is Croagh Patrick across Clew Bay.
By this time, John had left us as we were moving slower than he liked. He was in his element 🙂
He kept looking back for us, but we waved him to go on.
Isn’t this gorgeous????
John made it to the top!
Almost there!
We made it!
Taking a little breather before heading back down.
On our way down and love seeing the other “ants” on the hill!
Mom and baby are up from their nap.
