Day 32 – June 20, 2025 – Foiano, Italy
There was nothing planned today, so a leisurely morning. John got some work done and I caught up on the notes for the blog to get up to date. The picture’s part and posting them to the blog will take some time.
I suggested going to the outlet mall here, yes, an outlet mall, called the Valdichiana, which has multiple stores and restaurants for you to view. We spent about an hour walking around all the shops and grabbing a few things and then stopped for lunch at Eno Brace e Vino, where John grabbed a burger and I had a big sandwich with ham, tomato, and lettuce. Of course, you have to have a bottle of wine with it and then a café at the end (only John). After we had to hit the gelato shop and have dessert. Me, pistachio with big chunks of them in it (loved it!) and John had the café, because he hadn’t already had enough, lol! We were both very full by then and thought dinner was going to be very light and easy.
We got back to the villa, did a few more things as far as work was concerned and then spent some time in the pool before it was time for happy hour. After we both showered, we enjoyed a light meal of meat/cheese/salad. We played some Rummikub and that was it. An early evening in and some reading done and lights out.
Tomorrow, we have a farm tour planned at Fierli, the local butcher, where we got our steaks from the other night. We get to see cows and pigs and then will have lunch at their restaurant afterwards. Another great day in Italy – ciao!
