Day 26 – June 13, 2024 – Henderson, NV
Since last night was a late night, we got up later than normal and had a leisurely morning and breakfast. We decided to go check out a place in downtown Las Vegas called the Downtown Container Park. It’s basically a shopping center built from shipping containers, and it also has an interactive playground area for kids. It is made up of boutique retail shops, some restaurants and it has a live stage. It was rather quiet when we got there, not much was going on, so we just walked around a bit and then decided to grab a quick bite from Bin 702. We ordered montaditos, which are mini sandwiches filled with gourmet meats and cheeses. We started off with three and then went back and ordered three more. VERY good! We chose the Cuban (porchetta, gruyere, mustards, pickle), Brie (apple, honey, thyme), and the turkey (fig jam, smoked gouda). The Cuban was my favorite, so we ordered another one of those along with Bresaola (gorgonzola, honey) and the Tartufo (Manchego). These of course were accompanied by a nice cold draft.
After lunch, we headed back down to Fremont Street and walked around where we were the other night. We wanted to see it during the day hours and though there were a lot less people, it was still busy. We hung out for about an hour and then made our way back to Henderson. Since we had eaten everything down, we decided to pick up a premade meal from Whole Foods for dinner, which was pineapple chicken, couscous, and cucumber salad.
Once back at the BNB, we started doing some packing and then chilled for a bit before having dinner. It will be an early night tonight since we stayed up so late the night before. We will finish packing in the morning as we will head out about 10:30 for the airport. It’s been a wonderful trip, but we are both ready to be home 😊
