Day 20 – June 7, 2024 – Cannonville, UT

This morning, we headed out about 8 a.m. and arrived at Bryce Canyon about 8:25. Today’s hike was along the Rim Trail leaving from Fairyland Canyon, which also included the Sunset to Sunrise Trail. We made a quick stop at the General Store for a potty break and to see what they had to offer. I grabbed a t-shirt and we then headed towards Inspiration Point. We took a lot of pictures along the way; the views are spectacular!

After making it to Inspiration Point, we headed back down in search of some food. We ended up at the Valhalla Pizza place in the park and had the Bristlecone Forager (mozzarella, ricotta, peppers, onions, mushroom, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and marina) and we added some chicken for protein. It was very tasty! John ended up ordering an espresso and croissant afterwards, like we need more bread, lol! We had two pieces of pizza left over so they wrapped them up for us and we were on our way.

From the pizza place, we had about a 3-mile walk back to the car. The highest point was Inspiration Point, and it was an 832 ft elevation climb. All in all, we hiked over 9 miles. Once back to the car, we headed back to the BNB, cleaned up, fixed an Aperol spritz and sat out back to enjoy the views and the nice breeze.

Dinner was skirt steak cooked on the grill, some rice and roasted Brussels sprouts. We had a 7-hour day today with it being our first day here, so I thought we did good.

Tomorrow is a 3-hour horseback ride so looking forward to that! Nite all!

They are paper thin and so pretty along the trails.
We picked up the Rim Trail at this point. Notice the elevation.
Did not realize that it wasn’t an actual canyon!
The beautiful hoodoos.
We walked to the Sunrise and Sunset Point.
Standing proud, LOL!
There is a trail that takes you down below to walk near the hoodoos. Not sure if we will do this trail on this trip.
The customary picture of John taking a picture of me taking a picture.
That one lonely little tree surviving.
They are so spectacular!
Amazing this tree is still living!
We walked up to the Upper Inspiration Point and it was all uphill!
Well worth the view!
Our total elevation climb was 832 feet and it put us at over 8300 ft above sea level.
LUNCH!
I burned just enough to make up for the pizza I ate, LOL!
An Aperol spritz!
