Day 16 – June 4, 2025 – Foiano, Italy

Today we have nothing planned except to return some coffee pods that don’t fit the coffee machine and to grab a few more groceries. We had a leisurely breakfast then headed into town to run our errands. We were trying to find some fish and went to a store called, Eurospin, which turned out to be a really great store. We will definitely be going back there for shopping in the future. John did go a little crazy with buying some meat, mortadella, and I think him and the butcher had a communication problem as I think he bought 10 pounds of it, lol!!!!

After we got back, I threw more laundry in, which gets us caught up from when we got to Italy. We all had a great lunch of fruit, meat and bread with a nice glass of wine.

John had some work to do so I worked on the blog, and Steven and Patty headed to the pool for a while. While I love the blog in general, it is time consuming to go through the pictures and try to remember what we did each day, lol! I am behind with the pictures but will have time to catch up soon.

For dinner, we cooked salmon, catfish, shrimp, and also had steamed broccoli/cauliflower, and roasted asparagus. The oven is a little wonky, but the guys figured it out and saved the day. We had a feast that was delicious! We played Hand and Foot again and the boys beat us this time, so we need a tiebreaker soon!

We called it a night and tomorrow’s plan is to drive to Montepulciano where we have a wine tasting at De Ricci cellars. John and I were there in 2023 and loved it and wanted to share with Steve and Patty. We will also do a little driving tour afterwards that goes along with Rick Steves’ book. Looking forward to it – ciao!

The villa with our car, Francesca. She is a Citroen C3, a French company. the building to the left is where Fiorella does laundry, etc. for the villas. The building with the second level is where our apartment is.
I love how the sign says “parching”! The little building to the right with the truck is where Lorenzo and Fiorella live.
The driveway to the left is our villa and Lorenzo’s land; the driveway to the right belongs to someone else.
At Eurospin and I saw these – eeekkkk!
John and his 100 pounds of mortadella!
Tonight’s dinner!
Enjoying our first meal at the villa.
A panoramic view from our balcony. Love the sunset!
