Day 17 – January 11, 2026

At Sea
(Day 15 on the ship)

Today we continued sailing north through the Atlantic Ocean, making our way toward Montevideo, Uruguay, where we’re scheduled to arrive at 8 am on January 13.

We slept in a bit this morning, then all met up for Sunday brunch around 10:40 am—and wow, what a spread. There was truly everything you could imagine, and it was all delicious. I enjoyed freshly carved ham, chia seed yogurt, fruit, and a thick, wonderful slice of French toast. A Bellini rounded it out nicely. 🍑🥂

John approached brunch with strategy: he started with breakfast items, took a break, then went back for lunch selections. He paired it all with a mimosa, of course. By the time we finished, we were all completely full and agreed there would be no more eating until dinner.

The afternoon was wonderfully lazy. I spent some time working on the blog while John got caught up on work. In the early evening, we met in the theater at 6 pm for a Q&A session with Captain Marco and our Ice Captain, Maggie. It was a fascinating discussion. Maggie, who is from Switzerland, was specifically invited by Regent for this voyage because of her expertise navigating in ice-filled waters—very impressive.

Afterward, we headed to the Observation Lounge for pre-dinner drinks, then down to Prime 7, the ship’s steakhouse, for dinner. It was excellent—again. Since we were all ordering steak, we decided to splurge on a bottle of 2020 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley, which paired beautifully with the meal.

After dinner, we headed to the theater to see Salvatore Hasard (he is the performer who was supposed to get off in Ushuaia, but was unable, so he stayed for the whole trip, lol!) He did a great variety of songs and it was a wonderful show! We wrapped up the evening with a nightcap in the Meridian Lounge before calling it a night.

Tomorrow morning, the four of us are signed up for a cooking class called “On a Plate and In a Glass,” and we’re really looking forward to seeing what delicious creations are in store. 🍽️🍷

Another perfect day at sea. 🚢✨
