Day 63 – July 21, 2025 – Dublin, Ireland to Hveragerdi, Iceland

John got in a workout while I had to wash my hair (ugh!) and then we met for breakfast. The car came and picked us up and we headed to the airport. Easy check in and flight was only about 2 hours to Keflavik and easy through passport check in.

Picked up the rental car (Kia Sorrento) and Vance drove this time to give John a break, lol! (They also drive on our side of the road, which was nice!) It’s about an hour or so to the hotel, Frost & Fire, where we checked in and got the tour of the place.

We made reservations at their restaurant for 7 pm, which gave us about an hour to unpack and chill. Dinner for us was a beetroot salad and halibut and then John ordered the langoustine soup. It was almost 9 pm when we were done so we headed back to the room while Michelle and Vance headed for the hot tub.

Tomorrow’s plan is to meet for breakfast at and then head to Reykjavik, which is about a 30-minute drive, to go sightseeing since rain is forecasted.

***The first thing we noticed when we checked into our room and opened the balcony door was the heat springs that are all over the place! Very cool! The Varma River is right outside our door as well. Beautiful setting! They have geothermal bathing with a sauna, outdoor thermal pool and two hot tubs.

Part of the Frost & Fire hotel – the big building to the left is where you check in and is the restaurant. Notice the steam in the background, those are underground hot springs and they are all over the place!
Our beetroot salad presented in a beautiful dish!
Yummy halibut!
The brick contraption you see is used to cook bread, eggs, etc.
Michelle and Vance are happy campers in the hot tub!
