Day 22 – June 10, 2025 – Foiano, Italy

John and I walked to town this morning for our usual croissant and cappuccino/café and checked out some parts of town we had not walked to yet. By the time we got back to the villa, we had walked over 4 miles.

Today was a catch up day for John and I as he had work to do and I am still trying to play catch up on the blog. I also had laundry to do, which takes no time at all to dry in the Tuscan sun! The heat is starting to ramp up now and the mornings are not as cool as they were when we first got here, so you have to make good use of the morning before it’s too hot to do anything.

Lunch was left over stuff as we have quite a bit still, so trying to clear out the fridge before our next set of guests, Scott and Catherine from the UK, come to visit.

We both took a break and got in the pool, which is refreshing and then it was wine o’clock time, lol!

Dinner consisted of chicken breast, green beans and the last of Fiorella’s pasta for dinner. We ended the night with some Rummikub.

Tomorrow, we head to San Gimignano to check out the sites; looking forward to another adventure! Ciao!

The town of Foiano in the distance. It’s such a beautiful little town.
I take pictures of ALL the flowers, lol!
This is a smoke tree, or a smoke bush, and the fluffy plumes are large, cloud-like masses that are actually cluster of tiny flowers and seed hairs that give the appearance of smoke or mist rising from the branches. Absolutely fascinating looking tree!
These definitely look like ice plants to me. Love the color!
The public fountain, a memorial to three local Resistance partisans who were executed by the Nazi’s in 1944.
Church of the Most Holy Trinity – originally connected to a convent and was rebuilt in the 17th century.
A fresco, likely from the 15-16th century, of an Adoration of the Magi, located inside the church.
A glazed terracotta altarpiece of the Ascension of Christ, most likely from the 15th-16th century, inside the church.
Lorenzo’s Lamborghini!!!! Lamborghini started building tractors (1948) from surplus military vehicles which were needed after the war. In the 1960’s he indulged in luxury cars and was not happy with the Ferrari so he started his own luxury brand! So basically if he had not started with tractors, which are still manufactured in Italy, his supercars may never have existed!
Love Lorenzo’s grill!
And here he is again……lol!
