Day 20 – June 8, 2025 – Foiano, Italy
This morning we decided to walk into town and look around again and we ended up seeing a parade, though we don’t know what it was for. The walk to town and back is about 4 miles, so it’s a nice way to start the day before it gets too hot.
I decided to work on the blog and John caught up on some work. A little bit of laundry was done and then we all hung out at the pool. After the long day yesterday and with Steve and Patty leaving tomorrow (booooo!) we decided to just chill and enjoy each other’s company!
John had bought some pork/sausage kabobs and asked for Lorenzo’s help with the grill, which he happily did. We paired the kabobs with sautéed green beans and some, for lack of better term, what looks like orzo. Fiorella surprised us with her homemade pasta, one with sage and one with a ragu, and they use their own wheat to make the pasta. They were very tasty and there was a lot, so we knew we’d have leftovers.
After dinner we all played a couple of rounds of Rummikub and then called it a night. We thoroughly enjoyed having Steve and Patty join us for our first week at the villa and wish they could stay longer. It will be quiet without them here, lol! Tomorrow, we plan to head to Arezzo early and check out the town before dropping them off at the train station. Another wonderful Italian day/night – ciao!
