Day 11 – Sunday, March 9, 2025 – Bridgetown, Barbados
We all met for breakfast this morning and then hung out with Marguerite and Joe until their ride came to take them to the airport. Catherine, Scott, John and I then changed into our bathing suits and went for a swim in the ocean for about an hour. The water was just gorgeous and was very refreshing. We decided to hang outside a little longer, so we found some shade and just chilled, until it was time to clean up for dinner.
Catherine made dinner reservations at QP Bistro, which is about 7 miles from the hotel, so we grabbed a ride at about 5:45 pm with the hopes of catching the sunset. The views from this place are incredible and while the sun ended up going behind some clouds, we did manage to get some good pictures, while enjoying a nice cocktail. The menu for QP Bistro is prix fixe, so we got to choose a starter, a main, and a dessert. Mahi Mahi was the catch of the day, so I had that blackened and John got the monkfish. The food was amazing as well as the wines the sommelier recommended. The food at our hotel is okay, but it was nice to have a really good meal in a beautiful setting. They also had a trio playing, Juanito’s Gypsy Kings, that apparently have been playing for many, many years. We were serenaded at the table so I had to catch them on video while Scott grooved to the music, lol!
Catherine and Scott are leaving tomorrow, so again, another early night. We will meet up with them for breakfast and will spend the day hanging out by the pool until their ride picks them up at 4 pm.
