Day 3 – Saturday, March 1, 2025 – Bridgetown, Barbados

The weather was not very cooperative and we had rain showers off and on throughout the morning. We had a great breakfast and solidified the excursions we were all going to do while on the ship. The original plan was to go watch the horses race, as they started at 1pm, but the rain kept holding on so we just sat around the beach bar and chatted since our pickup to take us to the port was not until 3:30 pm.

Catherine had lined up our transportation to the cruise port with a young lady she had used in the past. It’s nice having a travel agent as a friend to help out at times! Marie, our transport buddy, took us to the port where we were quickly met by one of the Star Clippers staff and directed to where we needed to sign in and head to the ship. As we came aboard, we were greeted with a tropical drink and lots of smiles. We love these ships, and they do such a great job with everything! We went through registration, got our room keys and headed to the room to check it out. Our cabin this time is smaller than we have had in the past, but we made do. We are at the stern end of the boat, so you do feel a little more rocking, but we don’t mind at all.

We met up with the gang at the Tropical Bar and had a drink and snacks while we watched the sun set. We went back to the room to unpack and go through the life jacket drill then headed down for dinner. I meant to take a picture of the menu but forgot. I know I had asparagus soup, champagne sorbet, red snapper and pistachio ice cream. Like usual, all was good!

We went up top to watch them raise the sails and it was neat seeing the guys working to put them up and to under sail! Tomorrow we will be at Union Island, which is part of the Grenadines, and no excursions are planned, so basically a free for all. Looking forward to getting into the water and relaxing!

The island has Green monkeys and there are 2 or 3 right on the property. They originally came from Senegal and Gambia in West Africa about 350 years ago.
Scott took these next ones while him and Catherine were walking on the beach in the morning. How beautiful!
The Royal Clipper in the background!
Scott already enjoying himself; they were giving free chair massages!
The group thinks that John resembles Stanley Tucci, so Scott brought his book and had John sign it, lol! He’s wearing Marguerite’s glasses, which just makes it even better!
John, of course, had to get pics of the wine list. We had some really great wines on the cruise.
Our first sunset on the ship.
This was the red snapper, delicious!
